According Wikipedia, there are roughly 4, 200 religions in the world. With each religion is a God or gods. While Christianity, Islam and Judaism are monotheistic religions, some religions such as Hinduism boost up to 33 million gods or more as shown in the Huffpost study.

Revelation 20:15 says, " And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the LAKE OF FIRE."

"Surely, the disbelievers will be in the torment of Hell to abide therein forever. (The torment) will not be lightened for them, and they will be plunged into destruction with deep regrets, sorrows and
in despair therein. We wronged them not, but they were the wrongdoers. And they will cry: ‘O Malik! Let your Lord make an end of us’ He will say: ‘Surely, you shall abide forever.’ Indeed We have brought the truth to you, but most of you have a hatred for the truth" (Quran 43:74-78)

Hinduism and Buddhism do not believe in an eternal hell. However, hellish states of mind and woeful births do exist temporarily for those who think and act wrongfully. People who have committed bad deeds and accumulated negative karma are sent to hell to purify their souls. Hell is a place devoid of all pleasures, and where pain is experienced at every moment. The time spent in hell depends on the severity of one's past deeds.

Judaism is very vague on hell. But The Jewish mystics described a spiritual place called “Gehinnom.”

By using simple logic and conscience we can see religion for what it is.  And also judging the nature of God (s) should not be a romantic enterprise like many religious people deem it to be. All organised religions teach about a hellish realm. This afterlife experience is comes into two forms namely Heaven or Hell. The noble go to heaven and the evil descend to hell. The duration vary from religion to religion. For some, it's a temporary basis but some it is a permanent basis.  Consider for a few minutes. All the people in the world who naturally do not know Jesus or Allah or Buddha. After death, we are told they go to hell. Even for petty crimes like stealing a bar, or being born in the wrong religion.

It is very ironic that God tells us to love our enemies. Yet he imposes an infinite punishment for finite sins  on us. How can this hypocrisy be justified? However, religious folks reason, after all, God is the creator.  Therefore no one is able to judge him Talk about a God who gets a free pass every time his actions coming into critique.

The doctrine of hell doesn't sit well with people even the believers. Hell is a crime against humanity. People need to stand against such inhumane acts and say Enough is enough!" Humanity has evolved so much to offer accommodation to such hate speech and crimes. Hell is like plunging a knife deep into modern society.
